Flight Check

Flight data that actually helps you

Every year, U.S. airlines cancel or significantly delay more than 1 million flights. Airlines have access to sophisticated predictive tools. Travelers have... the airline app, which tends to be optimistic until it isn’t.

Flight Check was built to close that gap. We pull from the same government datasets the industry uses — BTS on-time performance, FAA advisories, TSA staffing data, NOAA weather — and translate it into plain English so you can make a real decision: leave early, rebook now, grab a coffee, or relax.

What Flight Check covers

Live delay status

Real-time delay data for flights and airports across the U.S., updated continuously. See what’s running late before you leave for the airport.

TSA wait times

Expected security wait times at 150+ airports, broken down by checkpoint, time of day, and day of week — so you know when to arrive.

On-time performance

Historical on-time rates for every major airline and route, sourced from BTS data. Know whether your 8am Delta flight on a Friday is usually on time or chronically late.

Flight briefings

Get a personalized email briefing before your flight: delay risk, what to watch for, TSA tips, and connection advice — specific to your flight and airport.

Traveler rights

When your flight is cancelled or delayed, we break down exactly what you’re owed under DOT rules and each airline’s customer service commitments.

Airport deep-dives

Delay rates, on-time rankings, typical causes of delay, and tips for 150+ U.S. airports — so you know what to expect before you get there.

Where the data comes from

Flight Check does not make up delay predictions. Everything is grounded in publicly available government datasets — the same sources the FAA, DOT, and airlines themselves use to make operational decisions.

BTS
Bureau of Transportation Statistics
Monthly on-time performance data for every U.S. airline and route
DOT
Dept. of Transportation
Airline consumer reports, delay cause breakdowns, and customer service dashboards
FAA
Federal Aviation Administration
System-wide advisories, ground delays, ground stops, and airspace congestion
TSA
Transportation Security Administration
Checkpoint wait times and staffing data for major U.S. airports
NOAA
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Weather forecasts and historical weather delay data

Flight Check is not affiliated with the FAA, TSA, DOT, or any airline. Government data is used under public-domain and open-data provisions.

A note on accuracy

No delay prediction is guaranteed. Real-time flight conditions can change faster than any dataset updates. Flight Check is a planning and awareness tool — always verify your flight status directly with your airline before heading to the airport. Our goal is to give you better information, not false certainty.
