We recommend adding at least 15-30 minutes of buffer above the minimum, especially during winter months or afternoon travel.

Question 3

Is a 1-hour layover enough at ABE?

Accepted Answer

A 60-minute layover at ABE is risky. About 18% of travelers with this connection time miss their flight. We recommend at least 168 minutes.

Question 4

How long of a layover should I book at ABE?

Accepted Answer

For domestic flights at ABE, we recommend at least 168 minutes to comfortably make your connection. For international flights, allow at least 120 minutes. Early morning flights tend to have fewer delays, so your connection is safer if your first leg departs before 8 AM.

Question 5

What happens if I miss my connection at ABE?

Accepted Answer

If both flights are on the same ticket, the airline must rebook you on the next available flight at no extra charge. If you booked separate tickets, you're responsible for rebooking costs. At ABE, if you miss your connection due to an airline delay, ask the gate agent about rebooking and meal vouchers. If the airline caused the missed connection and it results in an overnight stay, request hotel accommodation.
